Why do you think that? Too strong or bitter for you?

Too bitter and takes kind of like corn. My friend threw up in my sink after trying it. =(

report back on the oaked arrogant bastard.

love love stone beers...especially arrogant.

I remember a little over a year ago having a rasputin russian imperial stout...oh man that thing kicked my ass, I couldn't even sip it. Fast forward a year later and many many more dark beers consumed...love the imperial russians.

I had one a couple of nights ago.... It was pretty good, but I felt the oak was a bit overdone. Covered up the distinctive opening grapefruit of the arrogant bastard, and dominated the body. The finish is kinda salty (which is weird).

Final Verdict: While the Oaked AB is still a damm good beer, I prefer the Original Arrogant Bastard better. But that seems to be against the opinion of the majority (as evinced by BeerAdvocate)

BTW, if you're interested in the Oaked AB, buy it soon.... the 6-packs are in incredibly short supply. (Stone put this out in regular 6-packs for the first time this year. Otherwise it only came in unweildy 3L bottles).

Most of those are solid beers (I personally can't stand any Geuze), but you should come up with your own opinion rather than relying on BeerAdvocate so much. Who cares what others rate it?

Out of those beers, I think the only ones I'd like to sit down and drink are the Rochefort and St. Bernardus. Rochefort 8/10 are delicious beers.

Picture of some of my beers that I made for a friend from a year or so ago. That's typically what I have available, but I don't keep it in the fridge.

Arrogant Bastard is the most overrated beer on BA. Tastes like cough syrup. Their rating system is usually pretty solid but very once and awhile one slips through the cracks.

I've actually had most of these beers before, and like them. I was simply quoting BeerAdvocate as a 'neutral' POV on these beers.

And my favourtie styles are Geuze and Flanders Red Ales, so I guess our Belgian tastes differ.

I would say Bud Light, Corona, and Heineken are more overrated.
