I want to buy a certain cpu-specified laptop or desktop but many seller just tell -after other part specifications are told clearly,

cpu : the 4th Gen Intel® Pentium.

what actually does it refer to a specific intel cpu ?
anyone'd explain to me in clear detail please... ?

Sounds like they are intentionally not disclosing the model #.

Also, if by 4th Gen Pentium they mean Pentium 4, it's pretty much worthless in 2017. You'd be far better served with any cheap laptop built in 2016/2017.

4th Generation Intel Pentium without any other description most likely refer to an Atom based Pentium. Technically it is not a lie, but I would stay far away from it.
