What's holding me back

Specs:

P4 2.8 with HT
2x512mb Corsair ddr400
DFI LanParty Pro875 mobo
Antec 420watt power supply

I currently have my comp stable at 222mhz (Vcore at 1.7 by adding 200mV) with my multiplier locked at 14, giving me 3.108 Ghz.
I have the PCI and AGP locked. My mem timings are 2-3-3-7 (stock is 2.5-3-3-8) and seem to be stable. If I try to increase FSB even 2 mhz windows doesn't load, even if I select up to +350mV (max it will let me) for voltage in Bios settings. Is there something holding me back? I also can't seem to get my comp to POST if I try to lower any more of my timings. My dimm voltage is still at defualt which is 1.6 but it will only let me increase that to 1.7. Oh and also my current temps are 28 degrees idle and mid to upper 30's under load. What should I do now? Is there something I'm missing?

You need to drop your vcore down to 1.550 or so. You do not need 1.7v at 3.1Ghz from 2.8FGhz.

Also, You are going the wrong way with the mem timings. You are running the CL timing FASTER than factory SPD timing. Set timings to default(auto) and try to increase bus speed. Also, go ahead and juice the dimms to 2.7v. You may have to relax the timings even more over default to achieve higher FSB speeds.

Besides, you are using DDR400, you have them o/c by 44Mhz already. You need faster mem like PC3700.

Take care.

give the ram 2.8 vdimm ram is ussually pretty good with that and just to run that out. but yeah try relaxing the memory not tightening it if u want faster speeds.

I have very similar specs myself, and I find that its my DDR400 corsair thats holding me back...

Is your corsair C2 or LL? That makes a big difference when you're talking about auto-assigning by SPD...
