What's hockey coming to?

Tonya Harding will be playing for the Indianapolis Ice of the Central Hockey League tonight.

She'll be part of the team's "guaranteed fight night". If there is a fight, all fans will receive a ticket to the Ice's home finale on Sunday.

They had Kareem Abdul Jabaar (or some other really tall basketball player) play for them last year... I was going to go down for a game, but he wasn't guaranteed ice time, so I didn't go.

Manute Bol was supposed to play..he didn't, though.

Manon Rheaume was the female goalie..she played with the Lightning.

- Manute's feet swelled in the skates to the point where he couldn't play. (But hey Michael Vick was great - did you see that goal?!)

- Manon Rheaume actually had some NHL time in the regular season ? I thought it was only for their farm team... I wonder why she quit...

As for what hockey's coming to... this is definitely a publicity stunt, just like when Gordie Howe skated 1 shift with the Syracuse Crunch a few years ago, JUST so they could say he played in 4 different decades. I think Tonya Harding is white trash anyway... but what do I know ... ?

Hmm... maybe it was just preseason... as I do remember her playing in a 'Ning jersey at one point... but this says she never played with them officially... and it's a great source of hockey player info.

EDIT>> correction on Gordie Howe - it was the Vipers
