help me settle a debate between me and coworker
Which one of these would be a healthier lunch decision:
Footlong turkey sub no chips and water to drink
or a
6" turkey sub with chips (sun chips) and drink(diet coke)

yes it would be easy just to count calories, but i say there is more to it like you get more veggies out of the footlong and empty calories from the addons to the 6".

Doing a quick check... the calorie counts might be about the same, depending on how many ounces of chips are in the bag you get.

I'm voting for the footlong, thats the route I used to go. One of their low calorie /fat subs and leave off the cheese that you couldnt really taste anyway. Load up on all the veggies except olives and cucumbers. MMMM

Sunchips are like 280 Calories of pure Fat and Carbs. Don't fall for their "Healthier than chips" crap.

Train your stomach to expand to massive sizes (footlong) so that you become addicted to large meals and become a fatty later in life.

Vs.

A little fat from some chips.

Short term, the footlong wins. Long term, the 6" + chips wins hands down.

If you go with baked Lay's then you'll be getting very little fat and calories..

If someone is trying to lose weight, then the chips would provide less calories and therefore be better..but if you're not, then the nutrients from the sub will be better for you.

Almost all chips are empty calories and don't fill you up. I'd say the foot long if you avoid the mayo and cheese (and oil.) I like to subtitute non-cream based soups in place of chips for lunch.
