What's happening with my games.....?????Plz read....

Problem drives me nuts....After I installed the nwood 2,2 Celeron in my system two out of my games (FIFA2002 and Max Payne) show exactly the same symptoms-they load normally, let you navigate the menus, settings etc. and seconds before you load a game or start a new one, they throw you instantly to the desktop!!!

I even happened to change my VGA these days (GF2Ti gone for a GF3Ti500) but to no good...Drivers are the latest dets out there 44.03 and the strangest is that Max Payne did play with the GF2 and not under the GF3!!! Of course I have tried several install / uninstall but no result....
Note that other D3D stuff (3D Mark01,03 CMRRally2) and MOHAA,RTCW play just fine....:Q

That's strange. Maybe your power supply isn't powerful enough, or maybe it's a software/driver problem. Did this start happening after you updated to DirectX 9, perhaps? If you have some older drivers, you might want to uninstall the latest ones and try some older ones, to see what happens. Good luck dbal!

It's been around a year since the last one because of my mobo upgrade with WinXP....

have you checked the games support to see if there are patches for the games you don't have? Going from a G2 to G3 with Det's shouldn't have caused any issues that's for certain. BTW, I'm using a G3 ti200 with DX9 and 43.45's so I'll update to the 44.03's and see if they are flakey. I am using the 44.03's on my SL-75MRN-L with IGP GF4MX and it plays Max Payne way better than I even imagined it would, even managed the 5th highest score for NF2 in the madonion 2k1se database using them.
