Generally, if we want Mexican food, we to to one of the hundreds of Mexican restaurants we have here in northern Mexifornia. (I stay away from the roach coaches known as "Taco Trucks" however. FAR too many confirmed cases of food poisoning over the years from them.

Who on Earth ever said Taco Bell was Mexican food? That's like saying you shouldn't enjoy Pizza Hut because it's not authentic Italian pizza, or you shouldn't enjoy KFC because that's not what real fried chicken is. It's fast food. No one eats it expecting some gourmet authentic experience... Are you daft?

A $40 porterhouse is ghetto. Only $60 and up is worth consuming.

Oh, please, I wouldn't wipe my arse with a $60 porterhouse. If it's not at least $180 it's GARBAGE. Wretched GARBAGE.

Taco Bell isn't authentic Mexican food? OH NOES!

My point wasn't to try to claim that you shouldn't eat it because it's not authentic...duh, but rather that it's not even a very good imitation of Mexican food.

Melty, sounds like you've just never had GOOD mexican food. (just because they were in Mexico, doesn't mean the food was good.)

Of course, living in Northern Mexifornia I have a different perspective on good Mexican food since we have so many restaurants here to choose from, (the ONLY good thing that ever came from Mexico is the food) but there's no way to even attempt to compare American fast food mexican to real mexican food. I just have the option of eating the real thing for just a bit more than the junk Taco Smell has. (and yes, I occasionally eat at Taco Bell, just not very often, nor do I ever consider it "good." We used to eat at El Pollo Loco when we wanted fast Mexican food, but after the cucaracha in the burrito last week, I think they're off the list.

There are only two possible answers: everything or nothing.

Everything at Taco Bell is some combination of meat, cheese, wrapping and sauce. They just put them together in a different order or slightly different proportions to create new items. If you like one thing you'll like everything because everything is the same as the one thing.

there was once a time that everything was tastey, cheap and wonderful.

They have REALLY gone down in the last 5-8 years. And that is saying a lot.

Don't think i'll ever eat there after hearing the stories my brother and cousin told me while working there when they were wee teens.
