This cruncher had (had) a long term average of about 3:30. No changes and it takes a day or more to do 6 WUs here and then goes back to 3:17. What gives? Bad WUs? My understanding is that if some other processes are running that extends out the elapsed time but not the CPU time for a WU. Is that correct?

Any ideas?

That is starting to happen to my sons PC again. I have an Addtron AWU-120 USB-wireless card in his machine (8kha+, XP1800) .
I haven't gotten around to throwing the darn thing out. This is the third one to do it. The wireless works fine for a few months, then starts flaking out - dragging the machine down. I end up having to reboot the machine each morning, it even impacts the clock. I will look at my queue and see his machine about 6 hours late and his machine has lost 6-8 hours. Once I reboot it, it comes back with the right time.

I have removed the Addtrons from all the other PC's and replaced them with D-Link and I no longer have that problem with the other machines.

It was one of those special buys, I picked up 4 of the AWU-120's for $30 each (way back when). Biggest piece of junk I have ever bought.

I just found out tonight that under Win 98 the cpu time and the elapsed time are the same, however under Win xp & 2K the cpu time counts independantly of the elapsed time.
See my last post in this thread.
