Whats going on with my WinME?

I just did a clean install of Win98 and then upgraded to WinME, then i went to microsoft
update and upgraded to IE 5.5 but when i use IE 5.5 its the IE 4 Browser, OutLook upgraded, but the Browser is 4.0 how do i fix this, when i go back to Windows Update and try to install it agian it tell me im already using 5.5.

Why didn't you just clean install Win ME?

do a clean install of winMe
btw you can do a clean install with the upgrade too

Hiya. I have a similar question - at least as it relates to Isaiah's last post. Can I do a clean install of the "Upgrade from 95/98 to ME" via a 95 startup floppy? That is, the whole package is there, right? Microsoft just asks for your old product number somewhere along the line? (This, as opposed to installing WinME over Win95). Thanks!

A Win95 floppy has no CD-Rom drivers. You can do it with a Win98 floppy. Also, MS looks for the old media (CD, floppy, etc.), not the number.

when u install 5.5 there is an advanced option that allows u to keep ie4 and ie5.5...disable that..
