i'm writing a paper about the erosion of nation-states in the realm of world politics. i was wondering what the situation in the former yugoslavia is right now. did the state itself break up into smaller nation-states or what? i never really kept up with it and im sort of regretting it now ... as my paper is due in less than 12 hours. :)

i thought i'd get a response faster here than if i looked myself. that way i could also read my articles while someone else answered my question. haha. i just finished reading a couple chapters from Huntington's "Clash of Civilizations" ... thats great stuff. :) i think the theory he exposited in that came true somewhat. civilizations (by religion) defined the torn country and eventually brought about its breakup. im gonna finish reading this book some other day. thanks freegeeks. :)
