The violence in Gaza and Jerusalem is will only end when Israel provokes the Palestinians into rioting, protesting or firing missiles into Israel and then finally ends them with its overwhelming military power.

All Binjaymin Nethanyahu has done during the time in office has been designed to elicit sympathy for Israel while his country's police, intelligence agencies and defense forces secretly and sometimes openly, imprison, torture and evict Palestinians in violation of International Law.

The latest round of violence is due to Israeli settlers claiming they have rights to property in East Jerusalem and then Israel blocking Arabs from visiting their Holy Sites in Jerusalem.

Israel conquered the West Bank and Jerusalem during the Six Day War in 1967. Before then, Jerusalem was divided, with Israel controlling Western Jerusalem and Arabs controlling the eastern portion.

The Six Day War is also when Israeli warplanes attacked a U.S. Navy intelligence ship USS Liberty, killing 24 U.S. sailors in June 1967. Most historians believe then-Prime Minister Golda Meir was fearful that then-U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson would interfere with Israel’s sneak attack against Egypt and Syria if it had known beforehand.

Israel later apologized and claimed it thought the USS Liberty was an Egyptian ship. In December 1980, Israel paid $6 million in reparations, and 13 years’ worth of interest to the U.S. for material damage.

It was Netanyahu who kept up the lies that Saddam Hussein was building a nuke and possessed other Weapons of Mass Destruction. Kinda silly when Israel’s air force destroyed Iraq’s uncompleted Osirik nuclear reactor in 1981. Iraq had no way of enriching uranium. But everyone believed Netahanyhu’s Iraqi WMD’s tale.

So, Netanyahu managed to convince the administration of George W. Bush and most of the U.S. Congress to invade Iraq in 2003. Not one pro-Israel news columnist or U.S. congressmen allowed their children on the front lines. But demanded everyone else do so.

Unfortunately, 4,424 U.S. military personnel lost their lives and thousands more were maimed in the aftermath of the invasion. No nukes or WMD’s were ever found in Iraq.

Netanyahu had blatantly lied.
This was when several global and military analysts soberly predicted that some Arab and Muslim nations would now actually try to build nukes just to protect themselves. Um, Iran is not Arabic, but definitely Islamic.

Ignoring the world’s anger, Israel has systematically enacted pass laws, erected concrete walls and relegated West Bank Arabs to non-contiguous living areas separated by areas controlled by its settlers. Just as its former ally, Apartheid South Africa, did to Blacks. And I despised Apartheid.

But Israel has been able to easily sway the U.S. Congress and Right Wing Christians with a steady stream of pro-Israel news and movies. (And as many believe, large contributions from U.S. supporters to pro-Israel congressmen). In fact, Donald Trump likened himself to the Jewish Messiah in talks with U.S. Jews and Israelis.

In defiance of international law and every treaty which called for a two-state solution and shared Jerusalem, Trump unilaterally handed over Jerusalem to the Israel. Guaranteeing years of future violence.

And in this latest round of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Israel has destroyed a 14- story office building in Gaza housing Associated Press and other new outlet offices. The building also housed numerous Palestinian apartments. So, the news out of Gaza will now be restricted.

Think Netanyahu cares? Nope. He knows he’ll get away with this, too.

You forgot to mention the Lavon Affair where Israel planned terrorist bombings in Egypt targeting Americans hoping it would be blamed on Egypt. In 2005 the Israeli President gave medals to the agents involved in the plan.

At this point Israel is no different than Saudi Arabia. A country with largely different interests to the United States, but whose interests our lawmakers are tied to hip to because of campaign donations.

Trevor Noah had an interesting analogy, that of a teenager and a child fighting one another. Both sides have antagonized each other, but one side has immensely more power than the other.

That's appealing to the "30% rule" of cooperation among social animals. I.e, when bigger animals in a group of social animals play wrestle with smaller ones of the group, they have to "pretend to lose" 30% of the time or so in order to maintain the natural social contract so both sides will cooperate towards a shared goal.

Problem here is Israel's long term goal is maintaining an ethnic majority in an expansionist settler-colonial state. There is no possible cooperation here, because Palestinians aren't going to agree to exile (because nobody really wants them) or quietly accept their own genocide.

While an eventual slow moving genocide of the Palestinians is the most probabilistically the most realistic outcome, hoping they will go down quietly is a pipe dream. Nobody wants to be forgotten. Palestinians know they will be fully dispossessed one day, it's simply arithmetic. Nor do they have any illusion that they have the ability to ever truly fight back against them being slowly grounded down to dust.

Hamas firing rockets at Israel simply represents them making some noise so their dispossession makes the news, people will notice that they won't simply be erased into oblivion and be forever forgotten like some Cherokee tribe that laid down and refused to defend itself. In a way they are taking a page from the Jewish playbook--they hope in a few thousand years people will remember what Israel did to them, just like the Jews still haven't forgiven what others have done to them thousands of years ago.

Israel was getting a little uneasy about media coverage of the conflict, so what do they do? Destroy the tower building where the AP and most of the media covering the conflict were based. Of course they always have a ready excuse to justify all their actions, that it was used by Hamas. AP who were based there for 15 years denied Israels claims. Anyway, with crimped media coverage of the area now, they can get away with a lot more than they could before.

This is standard Israeli OP. Because they know they can get away with it. In the same way they struck the USS Liberty and killed over 30 US sailors in 1967 because the US were gathering intel that Israel deemed could limit its conduct of the war. They claimed the USS Liberty strike was "a mistake". Even though they were surveilling the ship with a clearly visible US flag with flyovers for several hours before the strike.

Admiral Thomas Moorer of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff at the time had this to say about the incident:

When you take that in, you will understand that Israel has no limits in doing whatever they want if it helps to achieve their objectives. Of course now in the age of the internet, its a little bit more tricky for them. Thats why they employ hordes of internet warriors to argue for its sake and to dismiss criticisms of Israel.

No no. We were TOLD it was solved. (past tense)

Well, you are quite gullible if you believed it...

The respective parties are too far apart and too set in their minds to change. Anybody with one good eye and half good sense already knew this.

I am of the belief that we and the world should stop support of any of them and they will settle it in good time one way or another.

Both Sides! completely ignores the power differential & the simple fact that our Israeli friends have been lying to us about negotiating a two state solution. That is quite obviously not their intent.

"What's going on in Jerusalem?"

The blowback of having completely unqualified and unfit people like Trump and Kushner in positions to handle foreign policy. Team Treason handles diplomacy about as well as it handles pandemics, so yes people are going to die.

Power differential has nothing to do with it.

Don't shoot rockets at someone that can stomp you in the ground. Not real smart.

^i don't even...

Dr. Ayman Abu Al-Ouf was head of internal medicine at Gaza's largest hospital. On the night Israel bombed the road leading to that hospital, and bombed a Doctors Without Borders clinic, they also bombed Dr. Al-Ouf's apartment building. At least 34 civilians died. These are the names of the children:

Adam, 3
Ahmad, 15
Dana, 9
Dima, 15
Hala, 13
Hanaa, 14
Qusai, 6 months
Rula, 6
Tala, 13
Yara, 9
Zeid, 8
Zein, 2
Yihia, 4

The Onion nailed it. Damn!
And actually the most biting parts of the satire are inside the article. But that is one hell of a headline
For those who would dare criticize this decision, we must ask how can we be expected to continue on knowing that our neighboring tenants, such as the dentist office on the fifth floor of our London location or the Gymboree outside our L.A. offices may be little more than fronts for violent terrorist organizations?

No one in the history of warfare ever wanted to improve their aim......

Right. Which is why the U.S., Russia and China spend billions to ensure their missiles and bombs hit the targets they want destroyed.

If no one wants to improve their aim in war, why does Israel constantly demand more billions in aid and the latest U.S. military technology: To improve its missiles targeting systems.

Duh.

It is unsolvable.

May look that way because of the western paid hate indoctrination of the school children.

It's solvable, go after the ideology/religion using reeducation camps, buy off/in debt Muslim nations and they will stay silent, keep the cheap goods flowing for the western corpocrats and oligarchs, and you will get lip service protests at best.
