What's given to you in the case of extreme dehydration?

Usually saline solution, maybe some electrolytes added too. Not a doctor, though.

Normal Saline a 0.9% mix of water with NaCl, or Plasmalyte, a mix of Na, K, Cl, etc.. that mimicks plasma.

saline solution includes electrolytes... any compounds that completely dissociate in water (KCl, NaCl, etc.) are electrolytes. want to make your own gatordae? get water, toss some salt in, and load it up on sugar.

Not true by a long shot.

What if you are not in an urban setting? Do you think you have saline mix around? You're better of giving your buddy some water (very very little at first) than letting him dry up like a prune.

Edit: Nevermind I only read the title. But in a wilderness sitting obviously you do give them water.
