Max Payne has some awesome graphics. Medal of Honor: Allied Assault is pretty good. Wolfenstein is decent.

I had the same problem. What I did to fix it is click on the 'medium' detail before the game instead of 'high'. I don't know why that fixes it but it does (I mean I'm running a GF3 it should work). Maybe there's a patch that fixes it but otherwise this works for me. Still looks great though...

you have to have a serious optical defect to think that MOHAA has better graphics than RTCW. In my opinion, RTCW looks better than Max Payne due to less angular character models and better animations. Max Payne does have better textures and fire, however.
Serious Sam SE looks about the same as the first one, meaning great textures and huge draw distance, but mediocre animations and polygon counts.

Try These drivers for your video card. I have a 8500 running on XP also. They are working great for me.

and the lastest update to the Audigy series, not sure which version you have.

Sometimes just re-installing or updating the drivers helps everything.

Good Luck with your .::SUPER::. Rig!:)

Edit: BTW I agree with EdipisReks re: RTCW, excellent graphics. Max Payne & Giants close seconds. I just purchased Serious Sam 2 at CompUSA for $10, I think the sale is still going on. I haven't installed this yet, tho'.

How can you say that Giants doesn't look that great?

I believe the game is one of the most beautiful games ever created. Have you gotten to any of the latter levels, like 'Battle'? Everything from the movement of the water, the rendered hills and the scenic vistas is done beautifully. The characters are done very well as well. However what brings it all together is the game play and thats what makes the game truely great.:D
