Yep, one of the first things I did when I moved to Manhattan was find out where all the soul food, BBQ and fried seafood places were. I'm still a southern boy!Originally posted by: Chaotic42

Man, you know how to eat.
I went to the KFC buffet here last week, and they had collard greens, but no pepper sauce! :disgust:
We have one like that hear. We used to have a "cajun" restaurant, whose idea of a poboy was a fat german roll with thousand island dressing and meat.Originally posted by: werk

I was dissapointed to say the least. 😉
I think the best southern food I've had, other than when my mom cooked, was at "BB'S Po-boys and Seafood Restaurant" in Ocean Springs, MS. Sooooo good. It was right there in my back yard for like 15 years, and I only went there when I went home for vacation.Originally posted by: blackdogdeek
just across the hudson in hoboken right near the path station is "oddfellas". pretty decent cajun food. there's also the delta grill somewhere near midtown near 9th ave i think.
Delta Grill is right down the street from my office. I go there for Happy Hour all the time. The food is OK, kind of like Copelands (in other words, everything is fried or soaking in butter). I can't fault them cuz they've got Abita Amber on tap for cheap.Originally posted by: blackdogdeek

I had lentil soup w/ crackers for lunch. Tonight will probably be a heaping bowl of pasta (gotta eat it now cause I start atkins again on Monday).
