I don't know. $1,700 a year savings is actually not that bad. For me the savings is far greater. It's way more than thousand dollars a month and tens of thousand a year.

I generally bring my lunch, but whenever I'm feeling lazy, I spend the $7 in the cafeteria. I rarely go out for lunch. I don't necessarily do it to save money though, just because I enjoy food I prepare at home more than the cafeteria or fast food.

Sizzler Salad Bar. Hadn't been there in about 2 yrs. Price skyrocketed since I last remember being there. Will not be going back most likely.

Edit: It was like $14.xx! dafuq?

I am not rich But I don't cook. I eat out twice a day. Average $15 and $3 tip. I live alone and couldn't adjust to one man show. It is wasteful, if saving money is the key. Kids are 51 and 50 so I am not overly concerned about saving for them. Just figure "What the hell, why not." Haven't shopped since Dec last year.

With all the walking that you do, you must be losing even more weight with having apples for lunch.

That's not really a regular practice, although I suppose it would be healthy. I don't like the apples that are imported in the off-season, but man, every fall when the orchards around here are harvested it's happy time.

Actually, I don't usually eat lunch. I work at a desk all day and I just don't feel like I need the calories. I will typically have some snack mid-afternoon just to ward off the feelings of hunger until dinner.
