whats for dinner tonight?

id been wanting to try the plantains for a while, and some different for steak so i found a couple of recipes by alton brown i tried tonight

Fried Plantains: its banana-like, and damn good deep fried. no more trouble than making your own french fries, and well worth the time. you have to try this; great stuff.

Strip Steak with Pepper Cream Sauce: the sauce is quick and easy, you could leave out the cognac or perhaps substitute something else if you have anything. i just used some cracked black pepper for it and it turned out great.

the asparagus i just steamed for a few minutes and put some salt and pepper on; nothing special, never had it before but i'll definitely have it again.

anyone else cooking tonight?

Wow, fried plantains! That sounds really exotic- I'll have to try that sometime. Those green peppercorns might might the sauce too peppery...you could substitute capers for a milder flavor.
