Whats different: 5700Ultra and 5800/Ultra

Just wondering why the 5800 is so much faster than the 5700Ultra.

5700U = 475/900 128MB DDRII 4x2 pipes 128bit mem interface
5800 = 400/800 128MB DDRII 4x2 pipes 128bit mem interface
5800U + 500/1000 128MB DDRII 4x2 pipes 128bit mem interface

The clock differences seem to account for nothing. The 5800 has a slower core/mem but it is still much faster.
What gives? Anyone know? Just a curioustiy thing.

Either that or 4x1. It's not 4x2.

nvidia tries to imply that 5700 is 4x1, and the 5800 and 5900 are 8x1, but then nvidia has had some serious honesty issues as of late. looking at the results of fillrate tests it seems that the 5700 is 2x2 while the 5800 and 5900 are 4x2.

Does it really matter? The 5800 series = JET ENGINE NOISE, the 5700 series = quiet, single slot, fan

most 5800's are not noisy at all. I had one for a month and it was completely quiet.5800 ultras are way too noisy.
And if I had to pick between 5800/5700 I would definately go with the 5800

Yah, the 5800nu cooler is similar to the reference 5900 coolers. Pretty quiet Single slot and very quick cards.
I had no idea the 5700's have only 2 pipes. Explains a lot. Thinking that it had four and comparing the performance of the 5700 to 5800, I was like "WTF?"
What difference is there? hehe. Now it makes sense. I am trying to find one in the FS/FT forum. No luck yet. Not the ultra, just the 400/800 nu.

I have an eVGA 5900nu in my main rig an it smokes any other card I have owned. Luvin it. But I thought it would be cool to check out the 5800.
