Bittorrent. Kind of a PITA to find specific files, but fast as hell when you do.

That's not really filesharing d00d... It's more like distributed downloading or something.

But yeah, BT > all for getting stuff.

BT isn't actually filesharing. Here's how it works.

I have a website. I want to distribute some.file to people. I make a ~20 KB some.file.torrent file and put it up for download. 1000 people download some.file.torrent from me and execute it. This small file connects them all to a tracker that I run. It tracks all the people downloading from me. People connect to me and begin to download some.file. When you download you also automatically share with everyone else trying to download as well, and your computer also is told how to download from other people by my tracker. The result is everyone downloading from everyone else at the same time. Cool stuff.

There's no actual program you run to search or anything though. You have to find the .torrent files yourself (there's a few good sites that have a lot of stuff), and once you find the .torrents then you're set.

I use Direct Connect for everything. If you can find a 'hub' you like, it's all you'll ever need.

I'm in two hubs. One public, and one private. It suits all of my file sharing needs :D

Wait, so there are websites out there for torrents? I feel like I am totally wasting the programs potential, because the only time I ever find torrents are when they make news on actual websites.

There isn't any.

you gots to google or know where to look.

I'd post some sites, but they all contain links to pr0n and other AT-unfriendly stuff...

Oh, I know one I can post right now... torrentse.cx is probably the best site. It has everything. Too bad that it's been down a few weeks now as they wait for a new server (but if you clicked on the link, you know that already).

kazaa sucks. its being monitored now by those copyright authority people now. everyone should get peerguardian, when i check that log, im always seeing various FBI, MPAA, and IRAA IPs snooping around my pc. the program helps ban and forefully close the connections to them if they are detected.

id say go with emule, they havent been overrun yet.
