Whats currenly the fastest dvd/cd drive for ripping a DVD or reading a CD?

Toshiba, Pioneer, Creatives, NEC, Which is the fastest for ripping DVDs?
Hopefully not too loud too.


Also, which CD rom or DVD have the fastest read time, so i can do my on-the-fly burning with my new 16x burner?

I'd say the Pioneer 16X because the Toshiba 16X doesn't rip DVDs faster than 2X...

Yeah, the 16x Toshiba has an annoying problem with only ripping most DVDs at 2x. Go with either the 16x Pioneer or the 12x Toshiba. For CD speeds take a look at cdspeed2000.com
