Something you've learned on own or through friends. This could come in handy for traveling:
Cheap in US
-Food and clothes. General commodity items are especially cheaper thanks to mega corporations like Wal-Mart. I also like places like Marshalls where you can buy brand name stuff. I hear time and time again through international friends from Korea & Japan saying how food and clothes are far more expensive there even for the residents
-Uggs. My German friend came to visit me few months ago. She ordered Uggs to my address from an US retailer. Apparently Uggs couple double to triple in Germany. I don't know why.
-I really like all the online hot deal communities (SD, FW, etc). I wonder if they exist or as extensive in other countries (can anyone confirm?). So I guess electronics can be cheap.
Expensive in US
-Apparently AA & AAA & D batteries are expensive due to all the regulatory environmental taxes. I remember growing up in Korea, they're SOOOOOO cheap at a dime to quarter each (same Duracell / Energizer brand). They Can be cheap in bulk at Cotsco, but it's common to see a 6-pack at convenient store for $6.
-Alcohol. They can be cheap at places, yes. But they're certainly more expensive to alcoholic countries in Europe and Asia.
That's all I got for now.
