The power to weight ratio argument for rotary is bogus. That engine with all it's accessories is actually quite heavy. An RX7 is lighter and better balanced with a LS1 V8.

That's awesome. Looks like a lot of work though. Maybe if you could convince one of those guys who already did it to sell his.
I think it would be cool to do that to an e39 BMW or an old Porsche 928. I know some of you would think its just sacrilege, but you'd gain a ton of power and get cheap replacement parts in a great German car.
