Ok... Not fast, "quick" or tuneable... Need a car, can't drive a motorcycle in Chicago all year.

I think reliability should be your priority when purchasing used car, no?
Many people selling their car because there are some problems and there ought to be something need to be replaced soon?

Honda? Acura? Toyota? They seems to be top choice.
One of my colleague sold his 2001 Acura TL for 10K recently. That car seems very fast also!

Z28/SS Camaro or Trans Am. Bang for the buck is unbeatable, and can get close to 30mpg if you drive like a granny...

edit: the miata has a very strong internet community!

I'd have suggested a Miata too, but it is far from fast... :p

I like Miata's but it's not very practical or "safe" as a daily driver in the snow.

Its fast around the turns :). Mines been turbo charged which helps with the straight line problem. They really aren't bad in the snow either. The 50/50 weight distribution helps a lot there. Just need some good snow tires.

Yep. The Mustang is another good one, but doesn't get as good gas mileage.

Jetta GLi, 1.8T, or something with a turbo.
I am loving having a turbo car. It just has a feel to it that I can't explain right. :)

Yes, How about a used RSX? I too see every now and then a 2002 RSX type-s going for less than $10k on Ebay. Not a bad deal IMO for a used Type-s

Or maybe an Accord Coupe?

The 02-03's weigh more than the pre-2000 models with the same power. Get a 97-99 or 2005+ Legacy GT if you want fun to drive - and a stick is a MUST.

Skip the Mustang, get an F-body if you're going that route.

Used RSX....eh.....more fun to drive than most in that category I guess.

IMO...find a 97-99 Legacy GT 5-speed sedan, spend $5K or less on that, re-do the suspension and give the engine a tune-up. Those things will run well over 200K miles.
