What's capping my FPS in counter-strike...?

In Counter-strike I get 72 FPS (less sometimes, but never more). This is with my G2 MX clocked at default. So then I OC it to 195 memory, 190 core; a good overclock, I figure I should see some good results. Yet, my FPS stay the same. I think, damn, my Celeron @ 550MHz must be the reason for that. I go about 2 weeks and don't think anymore about it (after clocking my MX back to default). But then today I decided to up my resolution in CS to...well, what ever the next one up from 1024x768 is. And still after doing that my FPS are exactly the same. Now this just can't be, they should have down some.

So I guess my FPS could still be higher than 72 (although I find this very suprising since I have a Celeron 366@550). I've made sure that vsync is off. I'm thinking it has to be CS that's doing this. Is there a command to set your FPS cap higher?

BTW, sorry mods, I didn't realize I shouldn't have posted this in OT.

Type "fps_max 100" in your Half-Life/Counter-Strike console. 100 is the max.
