What's bigger: Wal-Mart or the semiconductor industry?

Wal-Mart makes a lot as they pay their employees jack S__T. I think they just lost a case somewhere where they were makeing people work off the clock, I mean what is wal-mart low on cash

The $235 billion is revenue, not profit.

They do have lots of profit too. Sam Walton would not like the way his company is being run. He would pay his people more and give us a bonus once in a while.

Well then look up their profit and you will see what I am talking about.

After walton died his % of Wal-Mart was split between his kids and wife. It usually gos 1. Gates 2. Allen 3-7 walmart kids then so on down. If walton was alive he would blow Gates out of the water in terms of vaule on paper.

Wal-Mart is very close to pushing its employees to a Union state. And it will be THEIR(wal-marts) fault.

damn straight.

btw- what's your store's yearly/march bonus looking like right now?

Wal-Mart has a workforce of 1.24 million, which is 130,000 more people than the combined workforces of General Motors, McDonald's, and UPS.

The Union thing is correct and we have discussed it before. I'd join a union at walmart if I had the chance. They treat us like crap but I do get along some of my bosses great too.

Wal-Mart. The semiconductor industry is limited, while WalMart continues to open a new store every day. The sale of general merchandise is marketable to every community in every country in the world. They're not there yet, but they've got a heck of a head start over any other retail store.

There are actually some communities that make it a point of not allowing walmart to move in and set up a store because they fear it will blow all the local shops out of the water.

Wal-Mart can sell all the things the semiconductor industry makes. That is a huge company. Almost scary how much influence it has.

I'd agree here. I can't stand our wal-mart here. I avoid going into any of them. Looonnnng lines and no one is ever working the registers. BAH! I hate it. It seems the may be pushing their employees into unions.

Jack S__t and zero benefits since a majority of the people work less than 30 hours a week.

I heard somewhre that Wal-Mart is the largest company in the world. It recently overtook GM and an oil company for the top spot. Scary stat of the day: Black Friday 2002 Wal-Mart did something like 1.5 billion dollars in business. One of every three dollars spent on BF was spent there.

Having said that, I deal with them on an everyday basis.I am a food vendor and I bring stuff into at least 15 Supercenters in Atlanta. Let me tell you, if you are as big as they are, you call the shots and everyone follows your lead. Walmart always takes the highest discount on my product and turns around and sells it for less than anybody.Every day,24/7/365. Most supermarkets roll product on sale for 2-3 weeks then jack it back up to full price. Not Walmart. Is everyone here willing to pay more (sometimes 2.00 or more) for a food item at Kroger, or would you rather go across the street and save that 2.00?

I shop at Walmart and save about 30-50.00 per week on groceries. That adds up quite nicely at the end of the year.So you may have to wait in line a bit longer. To me the savings are well worth the inconvenience(which really is nothing to me)

Peace

Lounatik

I like the prices at Wal-Mart but it's bloody hard to find stuff sometimes because previous customers shift things around or throw it on the floor. I think the Wal-Mart Family is richer then Bill Gates. Maybe Bill Gates should open up his own general merchendie super store and use his business tactics to beat the competition.
