ASRock 939Dual-SATA2. FSB can gone as high as 280 or perhaps higher.

X2 3800+ @ 2.30 Ghz (from 2 Ghz). 2.30 Ghz is the highest CPU overclock that it's super stable at. I might want to keep cpu multiplier at the default 10x for cool n quiet to work (without extra programs).

2x 512 MB OCZ sticks (rated at cas2-3-2-5@DDR400). I can overclock it to DDR430 for cas2-3-2-5 and DDR460 for cas2.5-3-2-5. Can't change voltage easily (motherboard have very little options).

Temp at load is about 58C (65C for core1/ 55C for core2)
Temp at idle is about 32C (34C for core1/ 35C for core2)
Cool n Quiet enabled

My questions
1) What's better...cas2-3-2-5@DDR383 or cas2.5-3-2-5@DDR460? I did some simple memory benchmarks in everest but not sure how good everest is for memory benchmarking. I got higher results with cas2.5-3-2-5@DDR460.
2) Are my temps too high? All my case fans have died ;( lol...I really should replace them but I'm too lazy/cheap...my comp is on idle most of the time anyway.

You want your memory running as fast as you can get it. No matter what, it's going to be running slower than your processor, but the faster it runs, the closer it is in speed to your processor, so you'll get higher performance. That applies no matter what memory timings you have to use. And your temps are a bit too high; you should consider not being so cheap, and replacing all of your case fans.

So cas2.5-3-2-5@DDR460 it is.........and yeah I'll go hijack some fans....heh. Damn cases have crappy fans that died after 1 to 2 yrs. Thnx for the input.

A while later....
So I hijacked 2 fans and put it in my case...temperatures are now at 55 C (63C / 53C) at load.

I would've thought it would have more than 5 C difference, but I guess not.... (and yeah I oriented the fans the right way...bottom goes in, top goes out...lol)

Any other tips would be much appreciated.
