What's better?

Looking at purchasing one of those widescreen LCD's like this Dell 17". It supports 720/480p for DVD's and video game consoles, but how good will it look? Would it look better or worse than those items connected to a regular LCD monitor with VGA converters, like the one here?

Is there some technological difference between LCD TV's and LCD monitors that I'm missing? Wouldn't LCD TV's just include their own sort of analog -> digital converters?

The only benefit of the Dell WS LCD is that it's 1) widescreen and 2) has the built-in A/V inputs. If you already have a good quality LCD screen, just buy one of those VGA boxes and you will get the same quality.
