I have a 1800+ T-bred B that I know will do 2.4ghz easy, but its sitting in a ECS K7S5A pro @ 2.1ghz. All that potential is not taken advantage of. I finally realized how slow my 2.4ghz Pentium 4 is compared to this athlon xp i already have. I plan on getting a better motherboard for this chip to replace my pentium 4 in my main rig. I just need the faster choice of the two chipsets and I don't really care which one offers better sound codec chips since I plan on using my SB Live!. Also, I do have two 256mb samsung dimms that can definately be used for dual channel ddr400. I also know that Kt600 boards are cheaper, but I plan on getting that $53 Biostar Nforce 2 motherboard from newegg. Thanks.

Not only that, but nForce2 allows more lattitude in how you can overclock (multiplier and FSB can both be adjusted on Thoroughbred cores or later). I heard some good OC'ing results from the Shuttle AN35N Ultra too, another one that is priced pretty low.

Try this out. There's someone around here running a 1700/1800 around 2.4GHz on an ECS board using this wire mod.

Anyone know of a good nforce 2 ultra board for $65 or less. I will need dual channel, multiplier support, good OC options, at least up to 200Mhz fsb, stability, ok looks. I don't need soundstorm or firewire. Thanks.

Ask Insane3D about his Shuttle AN35N Ultra. I seem to recall him getting some good OC out of it. Ah yes, check out his thread here. :)
