Whats better DDR2 800 CL 4, or DDR2 1066 CL 5?

Finally gonna upgrade my Value Select to some decent stuff. Looks like all the 1066 RAM on Newegg has a cas latency of 5. I haven't had lots of experience with different types of RAM so I don't know how much this effects performance. Just for kicks I pushed this Value Select to 667 and noticed a definite speed increase in the system so that's when I decided to upgrade (it crashed in about an hour though). This system is mostly used for gaming. I've got a 680i mobo so my RAM can run unlinked to the FSB so I guess the fact that I'm OC'ing doesn't really matter much.

What should I get some 800 with CL 4 or some 1066 with CL 5? BTW, I plan to buy a 2 x 1GB kit.

Thanks.

if they are at the same prices i would get the 1066 since it is guaranteed the higher speed, and u could always underclock it and tighten the timings too. however for gaming, i feel that faster ram is not as important especially on a nforce board where u can unlink ur memory. i think u would be better off saving up that money for a new graphics card from either the geforce9 or hd3k serries (if they choose to call them that). u would certainly get a better performace booast than faster ram.

Well, hopefully the next gen Geforce cards are out by tax return time cause that's when I plan to upgrade my video card. This X1950 ought to hold me over till then. I don't know how it'll do on crysis, but this card ain't too shabby on DX9 games (did pretty good on Bioshock too).
