From all the tests I have seen they seem to be almost neck to neck but if I was going to buy a mobo right now it would be an Asus CUSL2

CUSL2. Traditionally in most benchmarks, the i815E chipset is somewhat faster than the Apollo Pro 133A chipset. Be prepared to put up with some of the CUSL2's quirks though.

the quirks are minimal compared to previous boards (my abit be6, bp6, etc). you wont even notice them unless you have to flash the bios, then all you have to do is reset the bios by jumping 2 pins. or, if you read ASUS's site carefully it tells you to change some VIDEO SETTING IN THE BIOS *before* flashing, and you can avoid the problem all together.....!

I won't tell you that the P3V4X is better but I will tell you that it's a nice board. The benchmarks generally show it to be about 5-7% slower than BX at similar speeds. While speed is great (YEA BABY!!) for lots of us 5% just does not matter. Their are also some speed tweeks avaliable for the VIA chipset such as programs to set 4-way interleave in the memory which further helps. From a value standpoint the P3V4X is also about $50 cheaper; maybe spend the extra for a faster processor?

cusl2 would be a better choice p3v4x is good to but theres 2 types of p3v4x.1 with ics or something.a friend of mine had the other one which sucked.but yah there both nice boards but once you get familiar with the new 815e board you wont turn back to p3v4x
