Hey
I recently was told that DSL was better for gaming even though cable speed is generally way faster so could someone explain this to me.

I am using Time Warner cable and its generally around 4.93 Mbps but when I had posted that info on another site I got all sorts of feedback saying that DSL was much better even though its waaaay slower.

So since my cable service has been acting up I am now considering DSL, any help on this guys .

Thanks,
CA

Depends on your provider really. If you are getting consistent better speeds up and down than a comparable DSL plan then DSL isn't for you.

Careful about people owning a product or service and telling you it is WAY better when they have never tried the other product.

These days people don't seem to have much first hand knowledge about much of anything but are very quick to speak with authority even though their "knowledge" comes from "something I read on the Intarweb"

Beside the difference of Price to Bandwidth Ratio that are defined in the ISP package.

BroadBand Internet DSL or Cable is dependent on the infrastructure that lead to your place, and the actual installation in your house. These variation can be bigger than variations among ISPs.

Therefore, the best way beyond getting Rockz and Rulez answers from guys over the Internet is to investigate among your neighbors and see what a knowledgably enthusiasts say about their local Cable and or DSL service.

P.S. In most cases when some one is Not doing well in gaming it is probably a problem with the ?Pings? in the ?Neuroware? (I.e. Brain Cognitive Functions) rather then the ISP.
