Whats better ati 9700pro or 9800se ?

got a budget of $225 or so

9700 pro is better than 9600xt overclocked corect?

9700Pro is a lot better than crippled 9600s/9800SE.

9700 Pro by far in either situation. The 9800SE is often nothing more than a 9800 castrated into a 9600. If you can find a 9800np in your budget, go for it, there's a possibility of softmodding it into a Pro (assuming the memory\core on the card will go that fast) or just overclocking it. The 9800 should OC farther than a 9700 Pro.

9700 pro... the SE version have been known as either sh*tty editions, or sucky editions, or suckered editions... the list goes onnnn and on

mwave.com has 9700 pros for 199 I think and I belive microcenter has 9800 pro's for 239
