Should I remove ALL nVidia drivers including platform then reboot to safe mode & re-install? Is this safe to do on a system that's not a fresh install? How do I check the version of platform drivers installed? Thanks for any help.

That's the way I do it. But I also use Driver Cleaner.

See Nidia's release notes for the version numbers of the drivers in the chipset packages and compare then to what you find in device manager.

You don't have to uninstall the older drivers, you can just install the new ones over the old ones.

Just remember to install them one by one, even if the installer contains all of them.

Check the Chipset Driver ONLY, install, reboot.

Check the IDE/SATA driver, install, reboot.

Etc.

Good luck!

BTW, the only NVidia drivers you MUST uninstall before the new ones are the Video Drivers.
