I am building a new system and not sure if I can rotate my new cooler with fan Vertical or Horizontal.. Its a XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler
If I can whats the best way to mount it???

I have a old Antec Tower and has two 80mm fans front and back, I also added four 80mm fans above the PS.

I am guessing Vertical with back fans blowing into cooler fan..
But Horizontal with HS fan blowing into PS would also work...

Whats recommended

You don't want to have the the cpu cooler blowing hot air into the PSU and making it run hotter and its fan ramping up. It's the reason to orientate it so that it blows to the back of the case where the exhaust case fan is.

Here is my idea,
I have four AC 80mm fans above the PSU and I wanted all four case fans blowing in with 120 side fan also blowing in..

That makes four 80mm fans in and out and the 120 PSU out and 120 side fan in
That makes an even balance..

I have been down the road with with negtive case pressure and a case full of dust, a floppy drive dead due to dust..

I due think the HSF blowing out with back case fans makes a lot of scene..

Any one have any ideas how to even pressure with fans I have????

Thanks Much

Generally, you want your CPU cooler's air flow to go in the same direction as the general case flow which is most often front to rear (that's called synergy). If you have a case like the XClio WT (Windtunnel), then you'll want a top down CPU cooler...
