Anyone know? And any speculations on how it'll perform compared to the GeForce4? I feel like I want to wait for ATI's next video card before I make my upgrade.

Thanks.

The earliest I think we can expect ATI to have an upgrade available in, would be August & I'm not prepared to wait for that long. I've put off upgrading the GFX for too long as it is, so I won't wait much longer :).

But that's just my 2 P.

From what I've seen, the "new" card won't have that many new features either, course I could be wrong ...

Next month.
We will see thier 8500 and 8500LE with 128mb. They will also announce thier 8500XT 128mb 300mhz core and the 8800 128mb 350mhz core.
In september there will be the new Radeon 9x00 series with 128mb and 400mhz core.

I thought the 8800 was the server card (Fire GL). ?

Also does anyone have any info on the pricing and performance boost?

There could be an 8800 fire gl card too but from what I hear, they're making the R250 which will be the Radeon 8800 for home pc use. This should be a faster card, but I don't know about anything new added to the gpu. I would say the biggest upgrade to the gpu line should come out with the R300 which should be out in the fall.. but possibly earlier if nVidia puts out a faster GF4 before then.

I was sure i heard that they were coming out with an Rxxx series of cards that would rival Geforce4 cards but have al lthe classic ATI goodies. (VIVO, coaxial on some models, DVI)

My guess is we'll start seeing some R300 specs in June/July with official release in late Q3 to compete with nVidia's "Fall Refresh" part.
