Is there a video card out there that's delivers text as sharp as the Matrox G450 but with some 3D? If it's the GeForce2 MX, then which one? Dual monitor would be cool, too.
Thanks.

Either a Radeon or the Voodoo 5 will do the trick, and I've heard the Kyro has very good 2D image quality as well.

You could try nVidia as well but you'll have to be a little lucky to get one with good 2D. My Gainward CARDEXpert GF2 MX has really great 2D image quality and it came with TwinView for free.

I have read some reviews about the 2D etc. and all of them say that none of the cards has so great 2D as Matrox. Now at work I have seen Matrox, Nvidia and Voodoo5. Identical monitors etc. Everyone who saw them said the Voodoo5 has the best 2D. In fact it was quite obvious. Even better that G400. Stay away from NVidia cards, do not be fooled by their superior 3D, which in fact is not that superior. I am sitting in front of a computer with NVidia inside and it really hurts Your eyes, after like 10 min. When I go to a PC with Voodoo inside, it just looks amazing. I recommend Voodoo5. 2D is the best and 3D also is not bad, FSAA just shines.

Your question invites the word "Radeon" more than you may have guessed. It has "some" 3d. That is, the games on the settings that work right. The image is quite vibrant and has good contrast.

well after having a radeon and a voodoo5 in my pc, the voodoo5 is the winner in 2d, the v5 has much better 16bit, but 32bit it was very close, still i felt the v5 was barely better (32bit). we have a G400 at work and i would say the v5 is just as good as the G400, but it's hard to judge since there not side by side, and the monitior at work is the same size as my home pc but is higher grade.
