Whats appropriate for an in-company job interview

I applied for a job within my company and tomorrow I have an interview. Typically the attire is business casual through-out the company, so for an in-house interview should I just wear business casual clothing or should I go with a suit and tie? Also would it be proper for me to send an interview thank you letter/email afterwards?

Are you applying for this job behind your mgr's back? If so I wouldn't dress up. 😉

No my manager already knows.

I just thought of a few more questions, this interview will be with 3 people. 1 technical director and 2 team lead supervisors. Should I bring in copies of my resume? Should I bring any references as well?

Edit - 3 of my references will be from the team I'm applying to join.

What would a good reference page/letter look like? I have quite a few work references from within the company that I can use. Do I just list their names, position, contact information and my work relationship with them?
