What's another name for bush?

I am looking for a specific bush and plant is too general and bush turns up nada.

The bush had small, green sticky leaves and blooms in the spring. Not sure of the color of the flowers.

Just the bark/stems that are left.
I think it's called "Sticky Monkey Bush".
The bark looks like a redwood tree.
