My father just got a laptop with his work and it has a burner on it. He has figured out copying his cd's but wants to make some compilation cd's of his own music, so im looking for an easy ripper to point him at. :p

bleh, i wanna steer him away from that simply because he might have difficulty burning, and might have to run updates to get ripping/burning to work. I should add that he lives out of state, so i cant do it myself or show him.

What about MP3 rippers like EAC or CDex? Sure, they may not be as "user friendly" as WMP, but it's simply a matter of....

(1) Insert the CD
(2) Name and rip the individual songs
(3) Pull the MP3's into his favorite burning software in the order he chooses
(4) Burn the CD

Personally, I think that's the way to go. Also, he can look the artist and CD/song titles up if he has Internet access.
