- Microsoft was based in Albuquerque for a while back in the 70s

- It has more movie theaters per capita than any other city in the country

Other than that, can't say I've ever heard much about it.... :D

I live there right now.. Reminds me of a cross between El Paso and Colorado Springs. I suppose it's like any other medium size city, not a whole lot to do here besides outdoor stuff. Crime rate is pretty high esp vehicle theft for such a small city. Basically, the north east side is white bread while the south west is a good place to practice spanish. Oh yeah, the mexican food (at the mom and pop places) destroys what I've had in CA, AZ and TX. It can get super hot here, but we'll say its a dry heat. Also, there are not many green areas in the city.. reminds me of gravel pit sometimes.

I didn't think anyone else on the board was from Albuquerque. There really isn't much to do here. Unless
you like outdoor stuff. I'd have been gone a long time ago if my wife didn't want to stay close to her
family. The economy here is slower than the rest of the country. But the Mexican food here is awesome.

It can get hot, but, not as bad as Phoenix or Vegas.

There is a place called Garduno's, they aren't bad. There are a few locations around.
My wife loves a place called Taco Sal. Sadie's is pretty good
and the chili there is usually hot. Little Anita's, Garcia's, Los Cuartes are all pretty good.

I agree those are great places, I really like los cuates. I would also add casa de benevidez and layolas and maybe monroes.
What part of the city are you in Desert? I live downtown at the moment.
