I am trying to get my upgrade copy of Vista and its asking for a VAT# which I don't have and it wont let me though to the next step with out it.

WTF do I do?
 
In this case, I am thinking that they are asking you to provide the VAT # of the company that you purchased the software from so verfiy that the company is legit, therefore your copy of the software was legitimately purchased.

Look on the reciept for the company VAT #

That's what I was wondering, too. I've ordered two upgrades for two different Vista flavors on the MS Tech Guarantee site, and neither time was I asked for anything like a VAT#....must be a Brit thing.
