Whats a popular credit card processing site?

I need to accept a credit card purchase for my company and I wondering what the popular, cheap, and reliable sites are that do this. I will likely use this for all future payments as well.

I seem to remember paysystems.com as one but I don't know if there are better ones that have surfaced.

Rossman I need your expertise. Please.

First read this previous thread on the same topic.

The cheapest and easiest method to accept credit cards is using Paypal. Your customers are no longer required to be Paypal members to send you a credit card payment. This makes is tremendously easier. Of course the catch is you're dealing with Paypal.com

The next level would be 2checkout.com

The best solution is CDGCommerce.com but there are minimum monthly fees. If you can afford it, I would go this route.

What is the rate at paysystems.com? I can't seem to find anything on their site about rates other than it's competetive.

There sure is alot of hatred for paysystems on the internet. I have read quite a few STAY AWAY forum posts about them. Unfortunately 2checkout doesn't seem to have any kind of mail order/telephone order system in place. I am not selling items from a web page so I need to be able to manually enter the charges myself.

i support this kind of thing at work every day and i would say go with verisign payflow pro. any processor that leaves your site and goes to their servers is unprofessional and linkpoint and auth.net are nothing if not problematic

You can use a DLL to send the transaction with authorize.net and receive a response code, so it doesn't actually leave your site at all.

No wonder I didn't mention them in my post 🙂

As he said... authorize.net can actually do everything via back end scripts to/from your server, so that the customer doesn't actually leave your site (which is the only professional way to do it, IMHO). I've heard nothing but good things about authorize.net (which is also one of the backends for CDG Commerce, RossMAN's highly recommended choice).
