what's a PCI (or AGP dualhead) card with very good analog image quality?

right now I have a dual setup with a good monitor on a Radeon 32DDR and a crappy monitor on a crappy PCI video card.

I'm going to get another really nice monitor though, so I want to have good image quality on both.
I tried a Matrox G450 dualhead, which is supposed to have the best image quality you can get as far as I know. but it looked worse than the radeon. I mean it was sharp, but the colors just weren't as vibrant or accurate as on the radeon.

so I need to find either a PCI card with really good image quality or an AGP dualhead card with really good image quality.

any suggestions?

9800 pro, any leadtek nvidia card should do the trick. nvidia is much better for dual displays...judging from the radeon 32ddr you're not doing much gaming...so a gf4mx, if you can find one made by leadtek. of all nvidia's board partners they usually had the best components etc. or just go with a radeon 9100 but remember, Nvidia has better dual display support

Well, couldn't you just adjust the colors with the video card's drivers or the monitor's OSD? From what I've read, I'm still inclined to recomend Matrox above all for analog signal quality, and (along with nVidia) above ATi for dual-head functionality (especially in W2K, where ATi doesn't allow for independent resolutions, AFAIK).

no...the matrox definitely wasn't as good. I of course messed with the settings but it didn't do much

so a cheap nvidia is a good bet?
doesn't the quality of the analog components vary widely from manufacturer to manufacturer? what's the best brand for analog quality? remember all I'm doing is 2D. I don't need 3D acceleration whatsoever
