A person who is a sworn witness for the government.

1. A bank will do this for you, usually free if you are a customer.
2. A coroner will too!!

The primary purpose of the Notary Public is to provide a means for establishing the authenticity of signatures. Basically they confirm the person who signed the form or paper is who they say they are. Most banks have a notary on staff. be prepared to show 120 forms of ID.

Many mailing places like Mailboxes Etc. also have notaries. ALso, FYI, many times you will be charged 5 bucks or so to get something notarized.
