a 2005fpw would do nicely like everyone said also gateway has a 21'' but for the price of that its better getting a 2405fpw cause you can get those down to 671.

Wow, that Sceptre x20g-nagaIII looks really nice. Widescreen and works as a pc monitor and gaming/dvd watching. But how is 8ms response time do in gaming, I thought you need at least 12 or 16ms timing???

I think you should go with a 19" LCD, 20"ers have a native res of 16x12, the 12x10 res of the 19" monitors is closer to 1280x720 of the Xbox 360.

Yeah, the widescreen Naga III is really nice on paper and reports are it gives an extremely high end picture when it works. Unfortunately, sceptre has a past history of quality control issues. Don't like the widescreen format much though myself. Once the 4:3 1600X1200 Naga III hits market, will definitely check it out as it should also be 800:1 contrast, 8ms and in the $380 range. The Naga II is ok but had some ghosting in games, the III hopefully is free of ghosting.

As far as response time goes, 8ms is better then 12 and 16, the ms stands for milliseconds and lower is better (less ghosting). However, every company has their own definition of how to rate response times, so just seeing the number stated tells you little without know what they measured and some independant testing feedback.

Well, I bought the Gateway 2815 or whatever (21" wide) from BestBuy. 800 w/ LCD, protection plan (doubt gateway will be around in a few years heh, 130 isn't bad for 3 years), and way-overpriced DVI cable. LCD was 599. Anyways, no dead pixels, it's clear as hell, and once I adjusted all the settings properly (make sure to choose user for colors!!), ie. fixed brightness/contrast/etc, the color wash stuff all but disappeared. This LCD rocks! I'll get pictures this evening. Running it on a bfg 6800 gt oc, and everything runs great. Getting a little tearing in one video game, but I suspect it's a setting leftover from when I was running that vid card with my 22" NEC CRT.

Dude I just bought the Sceptre at Costco yesterday and returned it. Had too many weird issues with it.. the backlighting made an X when the monitor is supposed to be black and black was a dark grey at best. Exchanged for a ViewSonic VA1912wb, a little smaller screen but much deeper blacks and no weirdness.

The lower the response time the better. You have it backwards.
