I believe I saw a sony 32" hdtv for $900 at best buy in hot deals somewhat recently. And FD Trinitron CRT if I remember correctly, should be a great picture.

What do you mean by flatscreen? A CRT with a flat tube?

Do you want 4:3 or 16:9? HD-ready?

You can get a 36" 4:3 WEGA or a 32" 16:9 1080i WEGA for around that price.

Apex's are decent for the money. They're a good amount cheaper than a comparable Sony, Toshiba, JVC etc. I'd still buy another nicer brand though.
