Hey man...I'm no potty mouth! I was just wondering. Where did this word come from? I mean, I've heard many Bostonians use it, but I live in the South and it's a non-existant word 'round these here parts!

I just told you that if you were afraid to use the word in polite company. :)

I am 99% sure that the word is Yiddish.
I used to work in an area that was mostly Jewish and I heard it being used quite often.

It's a Yiddish word meaning, as cyberian correctly said, "crazy, foolish, dopey" - most often used in reference to a person.

And LOL, every time I hear thase two words together, I think of Adam Sandler's Hannukah Song.
