So I've only gamed on a laptop and now I just built myself a computer and I want something to mimic my laptop keyboard for my new desktop. I know that it won't be exactly the same but something with some nice low profile keys would be great. The Saitek and new logitech keyboard look nice but they are just so damn expensive. If you want to suggest another good gaming keyboard that would be helpful I'm looking to spend about $30 at the most. Thanks!

Is this the Logitech keyboard you were talking about? I saw one on display the other day and was wondering who would want a laptop keyboard for their desktop but I guess now I know. ;)
Looks like they're about $50 for the mouse and keyboard, if you could find just the keyboard I'd imagine it'd be around the $30 range but it doesn't look like they sell it seperately.

Deck sells an awesome gaming keyboard that would suit your purpose. Every key is aluminated and it's heavy duty. Too bad it retails for 80-100.

Logitech Elite is a great KB too, considerably cheaper and enormous.

I had the Logitech Elite and I HATED it. Full size keys are a pain in the ass once you get used to slim keys (johnnqq obviously has no idea what he is talking about)
The Logitech UltraX is what you want. It has the standard 104 key layout w/ slim keys. It's no longer part of Logitech's current lineup, but you can find it around for $25.

Slim keys are so much better than normal keys cuz you can type faster and more accurately. It does take awhile to get used to it if you've never used a laptop...

I don't understand why "wireless" is bad for gaming.

IT'S FINE!

If it's types in real time, why would you assume it is different from when you only press the keys A,S,D,W, SHIFT, SPACE BAR & SOME #! during a game?

C'mon people, this is 2005.

I have the Logitech LX500 and it works fine.

Ok delay = bad for gaming no matter how you look at it I don't care how small it is. It is still an advatge havig wired plus batteries suck and I would hate to have them die during a match

I have looked at the Cordless UltraX before and considered it. Does anyone have a pic of it that is larger than what is shown on their site? I even searched google and can't really find a bigger version.
Or if anyone has one can they snap a couple of quick pics?

thanks
