What's a "good week" Venice?

dont get the new revision E6 3000+, they overclock only about 25% (compared to 50% of earlier revisions)

I believe it will say BW at the end of the part number (or BP, cant remember, ones E6 and ones Winchester)

i dont believe so........SS3 is on most chips regardless of revisions

Thanks...I haven't been on the forums much lately and am admittedly uninformed when it comes to more recent 939 stuff. What other differences are there between Winchester and Venice? What is my better option?

nothing really, the Winchester will overclock just as well as the Venice, but it will produce more heat, so unless you have a good heatsink, get a venice, otherwise the Winchester is just as good

venice also has an improved memory controller. It should do 4 sticks at DDR400 (although I'm pretty sure most A64's have been able to do that if you force it on)

That two, but as you also stated, good chance that a winchester or any other 64 can do 4 sticks

Well I just pulled the trigger on a 3200+ E6 and a Neo2-F at Ewiz. Came out to just over $200...not too shabby.

Has anybody bought a Venice recently? How about from Ewiz?

Early Venices are supposed to be better. Week 13 and 17 are reported to be particularly good. Also look for one with the *PAW stepping, these tend to be better.

Nobody can guarantee an overclock, but it seems that with one of these chips the chance of a good overclock is better.
