What's a good way to fix my sleeping schedule?

Recently I've been going to bed at about 6am and waking up at 1pm. I work from 315pm-1145pm and it's annoying to have only an hour to do things before I wake up.

I'm a very heavy sleeper, and I just get out of bed and reset my alarm when it goes off. I tried staying up all night, but I was dosing off at work, which isn't good.

What have you done in the past, if anything, to readjust your sleep schedule? I'd like to go to bed at about 2am and wake up at 7 or 8. I'm just too mentally awake to sleep before about 530.

Thanks.

force yourself to stay awake, domt go to bed at 6am just stay up untill you go to work then crash after work, get 8 or so hours get up in the morning

drink alcohol, its like nyquil on steroids

just don't overdo it because then waking up will be that much harder

I hear ya. My natural sleep schedule seems to be 4am to 1pm. I've learned to embrace it rather than try to change it & be tired all the time. I'm able to adjust long-term when I have school or I'm working, though.

I'm a shift worker and therefore need to constantly readjust my sleep habits. What I tend to do is stay awake, and then count back about 10 hours before I need to be at work. This way I'm really tired when I go to bed, then I wake up, have an hour to get ready, then allow an additional hour for travel time.

Go to bed as soon as you get home. Repeat every night until it's normal.

Well, last night at about 5, I was in bed and tried to do some math in my head. I just a bunch of math in my head and finally did the powers of 3 up to 3^11. I fell asleep not long after that. I guess it's just a matter of making myself mentally fatigued enough to fall asleep.

I hate my schedule. I'm asleep around 3am and up between 6-6:30am every day. I'm a total zombie for the first 4 hours of work. Weekends are my only saving grace.
