Thanks for all the info guys. Of course I dicked around and didn't pull the trigger on the 470 or the 480 that was linked so I missed out. Not too disappointed though because I'm sure similar deals will pop up between now and Christmas. Anyway, thanks for all the help getting me pointed in the right direction with the RX 470 or 480 with a six pin connector.

Once a good deal comes back around on one of those cards I'll snag it and from what you all are saying either one should be a huge upgrade over what he has now.

Get a used GTX 680 or a 580 3GB. A 7970 would also be cheaper than all new cards listed so far, and much faster than a 560Ti. Im still rocking a 7970 and it plays Fallout 4 1080P max settings with all the HD mods and eye candy goodies. Maybe also consider a 290X/390X? 780Ti's are also getting pretty cheap, maybe consider a used 970.

I would suggest Nvidia GTX 1050 TI, retails at around 140 to 180 dollars. Would be a great upgrade since it doesn't even need a connection to your psu!
